Slight dogleg to the right from the elevated tee. Big hitters should go over the trees on the right edge of the fairway. Otherwise
stick to the right of the fairway as a long drive can run off to the left. Watch out for the pond on the back right of the green.

Hole 2 Par 5: 486 metres - Ladies 424 metres

Another slight dogleg to the right. Keep your drive to the middle of the fairway as your ball will tend to roll off to the right preventing a straight approach to the green. There is a creek to the right if you are seriously offline, and out of bounds is not far off to the left when nearing the green .The deep green slopes down to the left from back to front and is quite fast .You will need to carry the green to avoid the lip at the front.

Hole 3 Par 4: 361 metres - Ladies 319 metres

Not much room for error with your drive from the men’s tee. Avoid out of bounds on the left but don't fade your ball to the right either as you will be unlikely to find it! There is a raised grassed area to the left to avoid & watch out for another pond to the right of the green.

This hole slopes uphill so you will need to carry the green or allow a bit extra. Don't overcook your tee shot into the sandpit at the back left of the green. Avoid the thick undergrowth to the left of the fairway which is again out of bounds. If you succeed, admire the beautiful grove of paperbarks to the right as you walk to the green. This hole also boasts an abundance of birdlife including a pair of resident red breasted robins.

Difficult tee shot for the men. Fairway slopes down to the right into another hazard so keep to the left on this one. Approach from the left as the green slopes left to right . Can be some tricky pin positions on this one so be careful.

A short hole and long hitters can carry the trees on the left to have a short chip into the green, or keep to the right and have a longer approach over the bunker to the front right of the green. Long hitters will need to avoid the sand trap to the right edge of the fairway with their drive.

A drive slightly left will set up long hitters to avoid the water if trying to reach the green on their second shot. This hole has 2 water hazards to avoid : a creek running across the fairway about 80 metres from the green and a pond to the right before the green. Shorter lady hitters will want to lay up on their second shot. Again don't fade your second shot to the right of the pond as the regrowth is very thick and there are usually a lot of ducks to avoid as well. You could get yourself a birdie! The green is quite fast and slopes from left to right.

Probably the easiest hole on the course if you carry your tee shot over the creek line 10 metres before the green which slopes from back to front. Ladies watch out for the tree on the left if the pin is that side of the green.

After your easy par 3, this hole plays the longest for the men especially as the prevailing winds are usually in your face!. Your ball will kick off to the right on this one so keep to the left if possible. There is a small grass trap to the left about 80 metres form the green to avoid as well as an abundance of kangaroos .Enjoy the view to the clubhouse and anticipate your reward as you approach the green which is one of the fastest on the course with a severe slope from back left to right front.

Play down to the right on this short par 4 to avoid the left-hand sand trap about 100 metres out .The green is flanked by grass trees to trap the unwary. Approach from the left as there is quite a slope from left to right on this one.

The hardest hole on the course for women. Enjoy the view over the lake as you take your drive over the water to the middle of the fairway. Don't fade your shot on this one or you will end up on the 12th green. The hole opens out nicely as you take your second shot approaching from the right as there is a bunker to the front left of the green. A very quick green sloping from front right to back left, and easy to overshoot.

The most difficult par 3: Your tee shot needs to be very accurate on this one to miss the bunker on the left. Ball will roll down to the green if you aim for the slope on the right or carry the green to avoid the dip at the front. There is a hazard running the length of the fairway on the left, but you might get to see the beautiful bee eater who has her nest there in the warmer months as a compensation prize.

Unlucky for some but a good birdie potential for the long hitters. A slight dog leg from right to left but aim for the peppermint tree on the left at the top of the hill as there is quite a slope from left to right and a water hazard for the unwary. (Last one you'll be pleased to hear). Enjoy the stunning paperbarks near the lake on the right which are popular for wedding photographs. When you reach the top of the hill there will be a clear view to the green. Don’t aim too far left on your second shot as your ball could get caught in the sandy areas. You will also need to avoid the long sand trap on the right 20 metres before the green, which is 2 tiered and slopes from left to right.

The longest hole but not too difficult if you hit your drive to the middle of the fairway. There is a sand trap on the left and what the locals call the coal hole on the right to avoid with your drive and also a bunker on the left before the green which has a big slope from right to left. If you aim to the right with your approach the ball will usually kick down to the pin. Look out for the slipper orchids on the left halfway down. ( GUR).

As you walk up to and at the back of the tee watch for spider orchids in October/ November. This is an uphill hole so you will need to carry the green .Watch out for out of bounds on the left and avoid the bunker on the front right as it is quite deep .Balls will sometimes roll down from the bank at the back but don't count on it. A big slope from left to right with the 2 tiered green makes putting a challenge on this one.

This is a blind hole from the tee for the men. Your playing partners can track your ball from a lookout platform near the tee. Aim to the far left tree line as there is a severe left to right slope ending in that coalhole again unless you are a long hitter. Ladies can admire the donkey orchids on the right of the path in October/November and catch their breath for the rest of the climb to the tee. Approach from the left and don't overshoot as your ball may end up in the bunker to the middle right of the green which has a slight slope from left to right.

A short hole for the men, but uphill and challenging. Drive should be slightly right to follow the right to left slope of the fairway, but there is a sand trap on the right at the top of the hill. This green also has a long bunker to the left of the green to trap the unwary. A very difficult 2 tiered green sloping down to the left. You don't want to be putting downhill on this one, particularly if you are putting from one tier to the next. An interesting feature is that the green is located over an underground cave. If you stamp you feet (don’t damage the green however) you can feel the hollow underneath.

If you have made it up to the tee you can relax as the rest is all downhill. Enjoy the sweeping views over the coastal limestone ridge while you catch your breath. A stunning but still challenging hole. Aim to the left as the fairway has a big left to right slope and many players end up on the 17th fairway. The shot to the green is quite tricky, and plays a lot shorter than the yardage. You can usually take 2 less clubs unless you intend to carry the green which is extremely fast sloping downhill from left to right. The green is also guarded by a grass bunker on the left and a sand bunker on the front right. Any chips are very difficult to hold but the good news is there are no nasty surprises at the back for you and you can finish your round with a simple up and down from there to finish in style. It is an an easy walk downhill to the clubhouse where you can enjoy drinks on the veranda and appreciate the tranquillity of the Australian bush with the kangaroos and blue wrens for company.
