Coring.

The coring of the greens has been completed and in addition a number of tee boxes that are

in poor condition have also been cored and sanded.

A start has been made on ripping the surface roots of trees that are encroaching into fairways and competing with the fairway turf for water.

Arborists have trimmed branches on trees to improve safety and also the playability of some holes.

An area short of #2 green has been sanded and is marked a No Play Zone.

Course renovations.

Subject to availability of contractors the bunker on No11 will be renovated later this month and the red and white tee box on No11 will be redesigned and enlarged. No11 blue tee will be enlarged and re-turfed.

If time permits with the contractors the practice bunker and the bunker on No6 will be relined with the yellow sand that has been used on No14 and No15.

The greens nursery will be re-established.

Course Committee looked at solutions to the bunker on No18 which washes out every winter.

It is the committee’s opinion that the last 100m of fairway and the green complex on No18 is problematic and professional advice would be wise before we make major changes.

The short term agreed solution is to infill the bunker and turf it, being mindful of the need to divert run off away from the green.

Thanks

Thanks to green staff, particularly Bryce and Chris for there efforts during coring.

Thanks to Mike Basford for his support and commitment to our course.

Also thanks to all the volunteers who helped during coring on Monday and the garden busy bee on Wednesday morning.
